Our Mission

At the Down North Garlic Company, our goal is to grow and provide a healthy and high-quality local garlic for our customers and community with a no waste mindset. Although not every bulb of garlic is picture perfect and acceptable for store shelves, we have created the expectation that “no healthy clove is left behind!” Broken cloves, or bulbs with little skin can still be used for creating by-products in our lineup such as powders, black garlic cloves, peeled garlic, oils, flakes and much, much more! 58% of all food produced in Canada is wasted each year. This is a very concerning fact that we feel is important to put top of mind in order to be part of seeing this number change in the right direction.

Growth

Growth is not only our goal for garlic, but also in our company. We plan to grow more garlic each year to be able to provide a local option year-round for our customers, while providing more community involvement and employment.

Community

In today's world, local and small businesses can be found everywhere else other than in their own community. Although our garlic will be available for sale for anyone across Canada, we recognize the importance of staying local and giving back to our home. This will be done through the availability of quality local garlic for Grey Brucers, to active community involvement and employment opportunities.
